Jasmine Park Campsite – A Peaceful Retreat Near Scarborough

We kicked off our 2025 camping season with a peaceful midweek break at Jasmine Park, a charming UK-based campsite just 8 miles from Scarborough. Booked through the PitchUp website, the whole process was smooth from start to finish—and our stay from Tuesday to Friday was the perfect short getaway.

Around 72 hours before our stay, we received a handy email from Jasmine Park with a map of the site, directions, and our access code to enter. A lovely touch that made arrival hassle-free. We were booked on Pitch 11 in Cherry Meadow Field, a spot with electric hook-up, surrounded by neatly maintained grass and a peaceful atmosphere.

As soon as we arrived and located our pitch, a friendly staff member came over to greet us. They gave us all the essential information without us even needing to ask—fantastic service and a very personal touch that made us feel instantly welcome.

Our pitch was perfectly level with freshly cut grass and plenty of space. The site is well lit for those later evenings, and a real bonus was how respectful all the other campers were of the quiet hours (11pm–8am). Peaceful nights all around!

If there was one small downside, it was the distance to the toilet and shower block from our pitch. That being said, it wasn’t a major issue, we noticed several campers had their own toilet tents—something we’ll definitely consider investing in for future trips.

The toilet and shower facilities were extremely clean (the best we have seen yet), well-stocked with toilet paper, and surprisingly spacious. There are separate male and female blocks, each with plenty of toilets, sinks, and three showers. Initially, I thought three might not be enough, but we never had to queue once!

Each bathroom also had a coin-operated hairdryer, and there was even a family bathroom with a toilet, sink, bath, and shower—ideal for those with younger children.

The washing-up area was indoors, clean and well-heated, with three sinks, drying racks, and even a coin-operated washer and dryer—super convenient for longer stays.

Jasmine Park has a lovely children’s play area, fenced off with only one way in and out (a big plus for parents!). It’s well equipped with:

  • Two smaller swings
  • Two larger swings
  • A climbing frame and slide
  • Bouncy spring animals

It kept our daughter happily occupied while we relaxed nearby.

The on-site shop was a real gem—stocked with snacks, drinks (including alcohol), and all the camping essentials you might have forgot. My personal favourite part? The “What’s On” blackboard behind the counter, listing local events and recommendations. The shop had morning and afternoon opening hours and closed for the day at 5:30pm.

There was also a cosy wooden shed marked “Tourist Information,” filled with brochures, menus, and contact details for local attractions and takeaways that deliver to the site. We even found a book swap shelf—perfect for an evening read under the stars.

Being just 25 minutes from Scarborough, Jasmine Park is a great base for exploring local attractions along the Yorkshire coast. Whether you’re into seaside fun, hiking, or discovering hidden gems, it’s all easily accessible from here.

Jasmine Park is a beautiful, well-run campsite that balances peace, cleanliness, and family-friendliness with a personal, welcoming feel. With great amenities, respectful fellow campers, and thoughtful touches throughout the site, it’s hard to fault our stay.

We had a brilliant few days to kick off our 2025 season—and we’ll definitely be back.
